History:

This dressing originated from a small but famous Restaurant in Switzerland. Its fame came from its salads and accompanying dressing. It was a local best kept secret and the inner circle of local Swiss were always keen to introduce newcomers to the Swiss ritual of "dip it in dressing, mop up and slurp". It was this dressing that made the difference between the mundane and extraordinary. In fact, over the past 30 years it has travelled with me all over the world and impacted all those who gave it a good try. This Swiss Dressing tradition means now you too can finally douse your favourite salad or other foods with Swiss Dressing and what drips over the salad to the bottom of the plate can be soaked up with bread like never before!

Sugar-free!

Most sauces in NZ, England and America contain large amounts of sugar. (Mayonnaise, vinaigrettes, Tomato, BBQ sauce bottled and canned food etc). Manufacturers have long learned that our natural cravings for sugar guaranties increased sales. More sugar - more sales. Having recently purchased a well-known ready made tomato sauce for Italian pasta I noticed it tasted sweet…No wonder as they now put 7.5% sugar into this convenience sauce virtually turning your pas-ta dish into a dessert! If you are checking food labels regularly you will already realise that it is nearly impossible to buy sugar free prepared foods! And what may have had little sugar some time ago may have now large amounts! We would like to reverse this trend and help people to discover that healthy food can taste amazing without sugar!

Ingredients:

Made with high quality cholesterol free Rice bran oil, our diverse flavours are derived from natural ingredients like apple cider, malt vinegar, my own selection of spices which including mushroom and onion powder, not to mention the use of pasteurized eggs to make absolutely sure there are no nasties in it!

Flavour:

Many dressings are designed to impact food and are so full of different flavours that no one could say what the food actually tastes like after they put that sauce on! Our dressing is designed to bring out the best of whatever you put it on, enhancing rather than masking flavours or taking over the dish.
Salad Culture In Switzerland salads are served as a course before a meal or often as a main course by themselves! The dressing is traditionally poured on plentifully (hence our unique 750ml bottle), so that the plate can be mopped up with good bread at the end to make it a meal – yes! salad, dressing and good quality bread constitutes a full meal in Europe!
